According to Reuters:
Israel and Gaza’s Hamas Islamist rulers have agreed to swap hundreds of Palestinian prisoners for the lone Israeli captive soldier Gilad Shalit, resolving one of the most emotive and intractable issues between them.
It is a shame that hundreds of potential terrorists will be released, but after such a long time, it will be indeed a good thing to know Gilad Shalit will be returning to his loved ones – hopefully soon.
